VICTORIA MARY CLARKE & SHANE MACGOWAN

A Drink with Shane MacGowan

PAN BOOKS

‘One of the freshest, most original biographies I’ve ever read . . . Buy the book, it’s great.’
Lynn Barber, Observer

‘A welter of colourful yarn, bombast and lecture based indiscriminately on deep knowledge and fathomless ignorance . . . this book is unbridled and large-hearted . . . All human life is here.’
Q

‘Unexpectedly excellent results . . . the insights into his massive ego, music making and death-wish lifestyle are truly wicked’
Mirror

‘[MacGowan’s] refreshing disregard for this image or for rock star posturing makes for an unusual “celebrity” biography . . . His candour, coupled with an acerbic wit, makes him an ideal guide through an unmistakably colourful life.’
Time Out

‘This endearing memoir . . . is Irish rock, distilled’
